Mexican Vacation Days & Vacation Premium Calculator

Find out how many vacation days you're entitled to under the 2023 'dignified vacations' reform and how much your vacation premium should be. Free, no sign-up, and your data never leaves your browser.

How do you know your salary?

The right to vacations starts after the first year (art. 76, Federal Labor Law).

Leave empty to use the legal table. If your employer grants more days, enter them.

The legal minimum is 25% (art. 80). If your employer pays more, enter it.

The calculation runs in your browser: the values you enter are never sent to a server or stored. Loading the page does make the ordinary requests any website makes.

Legal basis

  • Art. 76, Federal Labor Law ('dignified vacations' reform, DOF 12-27-2022, in force since January 1, 2023): 12 working days after the first year of service, increasing by 2 days per year up to 20 in the fifth; from the sixth year on, 2 more days for every 5 years of service.
  • Art. 80: minimum vacation premium of 25% over the salary corresponding to the vacation period.
  • Art. 81: vacations must be taken within 6 months after completing the year of service; they can't be exchanged for money except upon termination (art. 79).
  • The vacation premium is exempt from income tax up to 15 times the daily UMA (art. 93, section XIV, Income Tax Law); check the current UMA value at INEGI.

This calculator is for guidance only and does not replace legal advice. If you'll use the result in a negotiation or lawsuit, review it against current law with a licensed attorney.
